Kip Hoffmann scored the go-ahead goal in the third period as the Janesville Jets defeated the Coulee Region Chill 2-1 on Friday to clinch a spot in the Robertson Cup playoffs.

Janesville (30-10-2-2) improved to 16-6-1-1 at the Janesville Ice Arena. Coulee Region (14-25-3-5) has lost two straight games. The Jets are 15 points behind Midwest Division-leading Fairbanks with 16 regular-season games remaining.

Jack Vincent scored at 5:24 in the second period to give Janesville the lead. Coulee Region’s Connor Zilisch tied the game about three and a half minutes later.

Carter Ekberg and Jakov Novak provided the assists on Hoffmann’s goal at 14:24 of the third period.

Daniel Lebedeff made 25 saves for his 13th win.

The Jets and Chill conclude their weekend series tonight at 7 p.m. at Green Island Ice Arena in La Crosse.
