The Janesville Craig volleyball team earned another tournament championship Saturday.

The Cougars went 7-0 to finish first in the Edgerton Invitational.

“We played pretty clean all day,” said Craig coach Blake Budrow. “Amanda Carlson had 58 kills, but Lily Stockheimer had 41 and had a hitting percentage of .397. She also led us with nine blocks.

“Skylar Flood and Lauren Glissendorf did great jobs digging the ball all day, and Taylor Salmon distributed the ball well, mixing it up.”

Flood, who had 12 aces, five kills and five assists, was named the tournament MVP.

Stockheimer was named to the all-tournament team.

Lakeside Lutheran was second in the team standings, while Big Foot took third.

Brodhead finished 3-4 in the tournament. The Cardinals’ Abbey Johnson was named to the all-tournament team with 16 aces, 41 kills, 89 assists and three blocks.

Craig, 22-3 overall, returns to Big Eight Conference action Thursday when it hosts Sun Prairie.
