A strong start lifted Sun Prairie to victory Friday in Big Eight Conference softball.

The Cardinals scored six runs in the top of the first inning and cruised to a 12-1 win over Janesville Craig at the Youth Sports Complex. The game ended after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

The highlight for Craig (3-5) was Josie Rammer’s home run in the second inning.

Craig plays at Sun Prairie on Tuesday.
