The Rock County Fury opened their holiday tournament Friday with a shutout victory.

McKaylie Buescher made 14 saves to help the area’s high school girls hockey co-op team to a 2-0 victory over Arrowhead.

“We outshot them 2-1,” Fury coach Luke Steurer said. “Impressive part was killing off a 5-on-3 penalty in the second period.”

Zoie Steig put Rock County on the board with less than three minutes remaining in the second period. She scored on the power play off an assist from Maggy Henschler.

Alyssa Knauf padded the lead by scoring unassisted just after the third-period faceoff.
