Jessa Burling hurt Delavan-Darien from both outside and inside to lead Burlington to a 47-36 victory in Southern Lakes Conference girls basketball action on the Comets’ court Friday night.

Burling finished with 25 points, hitting 11 of 18 shots from the field. She added 23 rebounds, including 10 offensive boards.

Jaida Speth and Annyce Peralta each hit a pair of 3-pointers to draw the Demons out of their zone defense in the first half, but the Comets’ offense bogged down after that.

Speth finished with 18 points.

Wilmot 56, Elkhorn 42—The Panthers built a 17-point lead in the first half and eased past the Elks on Friday.

Riley Alexander (12 points) and Morgan Zenon (11 points) led the way for Wilmot (7-5, 6-1 SLC), which sits one game back of league-leading Union Grove.

Elkhorn (5-6, 2-5 SLC) fell into a three-way tie for fifth place in the conference. Payton Christensen had 15 points for the Elks.

Palmyra-Eagle 47, Parkview 27—Visiting Palmyra-Eagle held Parkview to eight second-half points down the Vikings in a Trailways South Conference showdown between the two undefeated teams.

The Panthers went to 6-0 in the conference and 9-5 overall. Parkview fell to 5-1 and 6-7.

Lauren Stefanczyk and Sydney Lean each scored 15 points in the victory.

Alexys Olson and Hunter Baars each had eight points for the Vikings, who trailed 27-19 at halftime.
