Dai’Vontrelle Strong can be a tough player to contain when Beloit Turner High’s football team looks to pass.

The 6-foot-5 junior put his receiving abilities on display Friday. He caught three touchdowns in the first half as the Trojans overcame Brodhead/Juda 32-27 in a Rock Valley Conference game.

Turner improved to 4-1 and needs to win one of its final four games to clinch a playoff berth.

Emiliano Reyes added two scores on the ground for the Trojans.

Brodhead/Juda (2-3) got a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and a rushing touchdown from senior running back Jeffrey Williams, but couldn’t complete the comeback from a 26-14 halftime deficit.

  • Big Foot 34, Clinton 26—Quarterback Logan Eischeid carved up the Cougars’ defense for four touchdown passes in a come-from-behind win.

Eischeid has thrown nine touchdowns in the past two weeks. He connected with Jack Gillingham twice in the fourth quarter Friday to help the Chiefs (2-3) overcome a 20-7 halftime deficit. Aidan Greco caught six passes for 88 yards and a score and AJ Courier finished with 87 yards and a score.

Clinton (2-3) had a two-game winning streak snapped. Jackson Nelson turned 20 carries into 109 yards and a touchdown in the loss.

Quarterback Jacob Dessart ran for three touchdowns after halftime to help East Troy (4-1) avoid the upset.

Evansville/Albany (0-5) led 14-13 at halftime. The hosts took their final lead when Tyr Severson connected with Sulley Geske for a 33-yard score with 4:49 left in the second quarter.

Dessart finished with 308 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries.

  • Edgerton 34, Jefferson 7—The Crimson Tide continued their recent roll and defeated the Eagles for the first time since 2013.

Edgerton’s Jaden Johson threw two touchdown passes and added a 1-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter. The Crimson Tide (4-1) will put their four-game winning streak on the line next Friday against McFarland.

Edgerton limited Jefferson (3-2) to 98 yards of offense.
