Nick Brown helped the Elkhorn boys basketball team remain within striking range of the top of the Southern Lakes Conference boys basketball standings Tuesday night.

Brown buried a 3-pointer at the buzzer that lifted the host Elks past second-place Westosha Central 60-57.

Elkhorn improved to 9-6 overall and 6-3 in the SLC. Westosha is 12-3 and 6-2. Union Grove leads the way at 8-1.

The game-winner was one of just two baskets in the game for Brown—both of them 3-pointers.

Luke Umnus led all scorers with 16 points for the Elks.

Jaeden Zackery and Cooper Brinkman each had 13 points for Westosha Central.

Badger 70, Delavan-Darien 63—Junior Kale Rogers took over the game, and the Badgers picked up their second consecutive league victory.

Rogers recorded a game-high 29 points, including 22 in the second half, to push the Badgers (3-12, 3-6) to victory.

Seth Grabow had 17 points to lead the Comets (2-13, 0-19), who also got 13 apiece from Logan Rios and Reese Crull

Girls

Badger 62, Delavan-Darien 37—Defense kept Delavan-Darien in its Southern Lakes Conference girls basketball game Tuesday night against visiting Badger High, but inconsistent offense again doomed the Comets.

The Badgers pulled away with a 42-16 second half.

Courtney Oomens scored 19 points and LuAnnabelle Wieseman added 13 for the Badgers. Jada Moss contributed 11 as the Badgers improved to 5-4 in the conference and 9-7 overall.

Jaida Speth had 14 points and Kailea Timmerman added 10 for the Comets (0-9).

Haley Remington scored 12 points to elad Elkhorn, while Ryley Rand added nine.
