The UW-Whitewater baseball team was eliminated from an NCAA Division III regional Sunday after dropping two games, 6-3 to Rhodes and 4-1 to Texas-Tyler, in Sauget, Illinois.

Will Heurtin doubled home two during Rhodes’ five-run bottom of the third in Game 1 to break a 1-1 tie.

Cal Aldridge homered in the fifth to cut Whitewater’s deficit to 6-2. Jacob Dubs picked up the win for Rhodes, while Nick Bosma got the final two outs of the game for his 16th save.

Texas-Tyler pitcher Austin Schneider held the Warhawks scoreless after giving up a run in the bottom of the second in Game 2. Schneider struck out seven and gave up five hits in the complete-game win.

Texas-Tyler took the lead on Henry Sanchez’s two-run single in the top of the second and added runs in the fourth and seventh.

Whitewater finished the 2018 season with a 33-8 record.
