Enz signing

Walworth Big Foot senior Jackson Enz signs his national letter of intent to play college football at North Dakota State as family members look on Wednesday morning.

A pair of Rock Valley Conference football standouts made their college choices official Tuesday.

Walworth Big Foot senior quarterback and defensive back Jackson Enz signed his national letter of intent to play with Football Championship Subdivision powerhouse North Dakota State.

And Beloit Turner lineman Brandon Malkow inked his LOI to play for Western Illinois, also of the FCS level.

Enz earned all-region and all-state honors as a utility player as a senior despite missing the last three games of the regular season with a knee injury. He threw for 1,120 yards and 11 touchdowns and ran for 609 yards and 11 scores. Defensively, Enz had 60 tackles, including 46 solo.

Enz had surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee in October, but said his recovery is ahead of schedule. He hopes to compete in track and field in the spring and defend his Division 2 110 high and 300 intermediate hurdles titles.

Enz stuck with his decision to go to North Dakota State despite a preferred walk-on offer from the University of Wisconsin last month.

“I’ve had my mind set for awhile now,” Enz said of his collegiate choice. “I’ll report the second weekend of June and start taking summer classes right away.”

Malkow was an honorable mention all-state pick on the offensive line and was the RVC’s lineman of the year.
