An alleged sexual assault occurred on the UW-Whitewater campus Thursday, according to a news release from the university.

The Dean of Students Office received the report of the incident Monday. According to the release, the offender entered an unlocked residence hall room Thursday. The people involved in the incident “are known to each other,” according to the release.

Sara Kuhl, a campus spokeswoman, was not able to provide further details on the incident.

“There is due process through the Dean of Students Office as well as the University Police,” Kuhl wrote in an email to the Gazette. “This is a newly reported incident and we are still reviewing.”

Anyone with information related to this alleged assault is asked to contact the Dean of Students Office at 262-472-1533.
