Reading the article about Seneca Foods making housing for migrants in the Dec. 8 newspaper brought back memories of my family growing up in the Spring Brook area.
In the 1950s, Libby's canning factory was there between State Street and Elliott Street. They had barracks there for migrants to live in while here. My grandmother Lorene Rickerl was a cook in the cafeteria there.
I think it's great that Seneca Foods have built housing for them.
