Edgerton, WI -- Robert “Bob” W. Kruckenberg, age 82, of Edgerton, died on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Edgerton Hospital with his family at his side. He was born in Edgerton on February 17, 1936, the son of Russell and Ione (Venske) Kruckenberg. Bob was a 1955 graduate of Edgerton High School. He married Marilyn J. Lund on September 3, 1955 in Belvidere, IL. Bob worked for General Motors, Janesville for 47 years, until his retirement in 2002 (Employee #1862.) He later worked for Coachman’s Golf Resort and Southern Wisconsin News. He was a member of Central Lutheran Church, UAW Local 95, and the Edgerton Conservation Club. He loved bowling, hunting, fishing, woodworking, taking care of the lawn and enjoying a cold beer.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn, of 62 years; ten children: Scott Kruckenberg of Edgerton, Randy (Cheryl) Kruckenberg of Leesburg, FL, Mark (Colleen) Kruckenberg of Edgerton, Kerri (Bob) Walker of Janesville, Kelly (Brad) Halverson of Concord, NC, Jackie (Tom) Kell of Edgerton, Jeff Kruckenberg of Edgerton, Stacey (Jim) DeVoll of Edgerton, Jamie Kruckenberg of Edgerton and Craig (Christie) Kruckenberg of Bluffton, SC; 26 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren with 2 more due this year (he lovingly referred to all of them as “Bud”); four siblings: Ronald (Mary) Kruckenberg of Edgerton, Richard (Sue) Kruckenberg of Janesville, Debbie (Ron) Bothum of Stoughton and Mike (Leone) Reynolds of Edgerton. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Donald and Stanley Kruckenberg.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the APFEL EHLERT FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 315 Lord St. (Hwy 51) Edgerton. Rev. Jerry Pribbenow will conclude the celebration with a brief time of prayer. The family requests that those attending dress casual, and feel free to wear their Packers or NASCAR apparel.
