Janesville, WI -- James Leith, age 79, of Janesville, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on May 11, 2018, after a brief illness. Jim was born on July 11, 1938, in Rhinelander, WI to Marvin and Elizabeth (Rausch) Leith. His family moved to Wausau, WI, where he attended school, graduating from Wausau High School in 1957. After high school, Jim joined the Army National Guard and served until his honorable discharge in 1961. In 1963, Jim moved to Janesville and was employed by CB&K Supply until his retirement in 2000. On June 12, 1965, Jim wed the love of his life, Phyllis Fritz. He and Phyllis raised three children. Jim enjoyed hunting, watching football, playing card games, and spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years Phyllis; two daughters, Mary (Bruce) Lervik, and Patricia (Hollis) Smith; a son, Michael (Shana) Leith; three grandchildren: Megan (Jack) McDermott, Justin (Amanda) Morton, and Jacob Leith; three great-grandchildren: Grant, Logan, and Colt McDermott; sister, Barb Kitsembel; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Lyle (Sandra) Leith.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the ST. JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Burial will follow at the Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Schneider Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
