JANESVILLE

The Janesville School District information technology team has restored Wi-Fi internet access in all school buildings, the district's public information officer said Tuesday afternoon.

The district reported Monday it was the victim of an apparent cyberattack that blocked access to the internet from district-operated Wi-Fi sources.

The district said Monday no data had been accessed or destroyed but that the malware had locked students, staff members and families out of various district systems and programs such as Infinite Campus, Classlink, and web-based textbooks and other resources.

Dr. Robert Smiley, chief information officer for the district, had said getting internet access back up and running as soon as possible was a top priority for the district.
