JPD seeks suspect in Monday night armed robbery

Officers responded at about 11 p.m. Monday, June 27, to a report of an armed robbery at AmericInn Lodge and Suites, 3900 Milton Ave.

According to the news release, the suspect entered the hotel and began to threaten employees. The suspect demanded money from staff while insinuating they had a gun. The suspect then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was injured during the incident, according to the release.

An evidence technician was called to the scene and a police dog attempted to track the suspect. The investigation is ongoing, according to the news release.

The suspect was described as a Black man; about 5 feet, 11 inches tall; and last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes and a white mask.
