A Janesville woman was injured in a hit-and-run incident after confronting a driver about revving his truck engine.

Janesville police and fire department responded to a hit-and-run incident about 2:20 a.m. Friday at Mineral Point Avenue and North Oakhill Avenue, according to a police news release.

Witnesses and the victim reported a truck revving its engine and squealing tires in the area. The victim tried to stop the driver from making noise, which resulted in an argument. The driver struck the victim and drove off, according to the release.

The victim was taken to Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center for her injuries sustained in the incident.

Witnesses describe the vehicle as a darker colored, older model Chevy truck. It has a lift kit and a broken or burned out parking light. Witnesses gave a partial license plate number of 2883 or 5883, according to the release.
