The Janesville Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying a dog believed to have bitten a child in a Janesville park Thursday afternoon, according to a news release.

Police said a child was bitten in the face between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. Thursday by a loose dog in Adams Park at the corner of Glen and Caroline streets.

The animal was described as a skinny brown and white pit bull mix with no collar. Anyone with information about the dog or its owner should call the police department at 608-755-3100 or the Janesville Area CrimeStoppers at 608-756-3636.
