Intoxicated driving arrests

MEGAN E. BENNETT, 35, Plainfield, Ill., at 4:26 p.m. Sunday at Parkside Drive and Hamilton Avenue, Janesville.


STRONG ARM ROBBERY at 11:17 a.m. Saturday at Sherman Avenue and North Water Street, Janesville. A man said he was robbed while he was gathering his fishing gear out of his car. The man claims he had $680 of rent money taken from his pocket.

THEFT at 7:40 p.m. Saturday at the 400 block of South Main Street, Janesville. A woman said someone went in her vehicle and stole her purse, along with a wallet containing $170.

BURGLARY at 9:37 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of South Randall Avenue, Janesville. A woman said someone stole a gas container and apparently damaged a boat motor worth $2,000 in the process.

THEFT at 12:58 a.m. Sunday at the 1700 block of Morningside Drive, Janesville. A man said someone took two fishing poles and a tackle box full of fishing accessories from the bed of his pickup truck, which was parked in his apartment’s parking lot overnight. The stolen items have a value of about $700.


VEHICLE FIRE, at 3:08 p.m. Sunday at County H about 1/4 mile north of County A, town of Janesville. The Janesville Fire Department responded to a report of a 2001 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV on fire at the side of the road. The driver said his friend had just bought the vehicle for $500. The driver said the SUV lost power, and smoke began pouring from the engine compartment before the vehicle’s front end burst into flames.
