The Janesville Police Department added five new officers to its ranks Aug. 5.
The officers are:
Drew Bartmess of Juda. He earned an associate degree in criminal justice in May 2018 from Des Moines Area Community College in Iowa and graduated in December 2018 from Chippewa Valley Technical College Police Academy. Bartmess previously worked at Mills Fleet Farm in Menomonie.
Kailey Kinsella of New Lenox, Illinois. She graduated in May with a Bachelor of Science degree in law enforcement and justice administration from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. She will attend the Blackhawk Technical College Police Academy starting in August. During college, Kinsella worked as a dog groomer and dog walker.
John Martini Jr. of Lolo, Montana. Martini earned a Bachelor of Science degree in labor and industrial relations in 2002 from Penn State University. He worked as a detective for the Missoula Police Department in Missoula, Montana, before joining the Janesville Police Department.
Sidney Raymond of Janesville. She graduated in May from Blackhawk Technical College with an associate degree in criminal justice and will attend the college’s police academy starting in August. Raymond previously worked as an assistant manager at Threads Consignment and interned at Janesville Police Department.
Austin Wells of Menominee, Michigan. Wells earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Northern Michigan University in 2016 and attended the police academy that same year. He previously worked as a police officer for the Menominee Police Department.
