Janesville’s House of Mercy Homeless Center has received the 2019 Dick Davidson NOVA Award from the American Hospital Association.
The award recognizes hospitals’ and health systems’ efforts to improve community health through economic, health care or social initiatives.
“It’s a privilege and an honor to have the House of Mercy Homeless Center awarded in this way,” Mercyhealth President and CEO Javon Bea said in a news release.
“The amazing team at the center is passionate about helping hundreds of women, children and families get back on their feet each year.”
The House of Mercy is a short-term emergency shelter that helps families identify the root cause of their homelessness and find stable, long-term housing.
