This year’s Rock County 4-H Fair lineup will include some bull riding, a bit of classic rock and more than enough country music.
Here’s what you can expect at the grandstand each night of the fair:
Tuesday, July 24: To be announced
Wednesday, July 25: Lanco
Lanco is a five-member country band from Nashville, Tennessee.
Their recently released album, Hallelujah Nights, reached No. 1 on the Billboard country chart. Their song “Greatest Love Story” appears in the Netflix series “The Ranch.”
The group is currently touring in London.
Thursday, July 26: Dylan Scott
Dylan Scott is a 27-year-old country artist from Louisiana. His self-titled album, released in August 2016, debuted at No. 5 on Billboard’s top country chart.
Scott’s website describes him as “an old soul with a young spirit” and “a heartthrob whose wide smile and deep-voiced Louisiana drawl have already turned many a woman’s head.” He’s currently touring the United States.
Friday, July 27: Asia Featuring John Payne
This rock band is a continuation of frontman John Payne’s career in the group, which originally formed in the early 1980s. The original Asia released an eponymous album that sold 4 million copies in the U.S. and included “Heat of the Moment,” which became a Top 40 hit.
Payne joined the band in 1991, which went on to release several additional albums. The current lineup plays songs covering the entire history of the band, so old-timers can expect to hear their favorite classics.
Saturday, July 28: Mark Chesnutt
Chesnutt is a country musician from Texas who has been playing professionally since 1990 and has released 15 albums. A high school dropout, Chesnutt began playing in southeast Texas clubs before he amassed a large fan base and went on to record professionally.
Sunday, July 29: Rice Bull Riding Company
This ain’t a rodeo, or so the company claims.
Rice Bull Riding Company provides “action-packed, top-ranked” professional bull riding, including comedy specialty acts, freestyle bull fighting, barrel racing and mutton busting. The Minnesota-based business has a collection of more than 300 bulls it handpicks from for each event.
