Katherine Gaulke, a Democrat running for the 32nd Assembly District seat, announced an endorsement from Planned Parenthood on Monday.

Gaulke lives in the town of Delavan and is seeking to unseat state Rep. Tyler August, R-Lake Geneva, in the Nov. 6 general election.

In a news release, Gaulke praised Planned Parenthood, writing that she looks forward to “voting for legislation that will fully fund Planned Parenthood.

“I’m pro-choice and advocate unequivocally for a woman’s right to make the best health care decisions for her body,” she wrote. “I also strongly believe in the need to reduce abortions—which is not through escalating culture wars, but by reducing poverty.”
