JANESVILLE

The Janesville School District will offer a free school breakfast program and national school lunch program for the 2018-19 school year.

Schools participating in the free breakfast and lunch program are: Adams Elementary, Franklin Middle School, Jackson Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Madison Elementary, Washington Elementary, Wilson Elementary, Rock River Charter School and TAGOS Leadership Academy.

Families who have students enrolled at those schools are not required to complete federal applications. However, individual schools might distribute applications to obtain household income data for other programs.

Applications are required for students to receive free lunches at these sites: Harrison Elementary, Kennedy Elementary, Monroe Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary, Van Buren Elementary, Edison Middle School, Marshall Middle School, Craig High School, Parker High School, ARISE Virtual Academy and Rock University High School.

Megan Martin of the school nutrition department will review applications and determine program eligibility. Residents dissatisfied with the ruling may ask for an informal meeting by calling 608-743-5132. Formal appeals can be submitted orally or in writing to Superintendent Steven Pophal at 527 S. Franklin St., Janesville, WI 53548 or by calling 608-743-5000.
