The deadline for election paperwork for the Rock County Board's District 15 has been extended until Friday, Jan 5.

The original deadline was Tuesday, Jan. 2. However, the District 15 incumbent, Linda Garrett, didn't submit candidate paperwork or a notice of noncandidacy, according to a news release from Rock County Clerk Lisa Tollefson.

When that happens, the paperwork deadline is extended 72 hours for any eligible candidate except the incumbent. The new deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5.

Candidates must be residents of District 15, which includes Wards 16 to 19 in Beloit, according to the release.

Interested candidates may call the clerk's office at 608-757-5660.
