The city of Whitewater is asking anyone visiting its buildings—vaccinated or not—to wear masks.
This includes those attending public meetings, where “reasonable efforts will be made to maintain physical distancing,” according to a news release.
Remote participation of meetings will be made available.
City employees are required to wear masks in public or common areas within city facilities. Employees are not required to wear masks while working outdoors.

On Sept. 2, this story was corrected to reflect the following.
A story on Page 8A of Thursday’s Gazette incorrectly characterized a new mask rule in city of Whitewater buildings.
The city was “asking,” not mandating, that visitors wear masks in city facilities. City employees, however, are required to mask indoors.
