Instead of ceasing operations as previously announced, the free COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Blackhawk Technical College will remain open but with limited hours.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services extended the clinic's operations so adolescents and families can get COVID-19 vaccines before the fall school year begins, according to DHS. The decision was not made in response to the delta variant, officials said.
The state health department provides oversight for the clinic with its operation run by contract provider AMI Expeditionary Healthcare.
Starting the week of July 19, the clinic will operate from a “freestanding structure” located on the main BTC campus in Janesville.
To preregister for a vaccination, you can go online to vaccinate.wi.gov or call 844-684-1064. Walk-ins are welcome.
The new hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays.
