Piles of tiles

Milton High School is looking for alumni and art students who created tiles at the school.

MILTON

Milton High School for years has displayed ceiling tiles decorated by graduating seniors.

While preparing for referendum construction at the high school, workers removed many tiles so they could do mechanical work. In the process, they discovered that most of them had deteriorated over time and could not be reinstalled.

The high school wants to return those ceiling tiles to the artists who created them.

Each tile has been photographed and can been seen on the high school's alumni website or at the Milton High School Alumni Facebook page, @miltonhighalum.

Those interested in picking up their tiles should identify them by their numbers in the pictures. They then can call the high school's main office at 608-868-9300 and make arrangements for pickup. Tiles can be picked up until April 9.

Not all the tiles have been removed, so it's possible a graduate might not find his or her tile on the website because it's still on display.

The high school reminds graduates that their tiles might have sustained damage or aged over time.
