Rock County sheriff’s deputies are looking for help in a series of vandalism incidents on the west side of the county that could be related.

The most serious incident occurred early Monday morning when a large tractor with trailer attached was started and put in gear, apparently without a driver.

The tractor crashed into a shed at a neighboring farm, according to a sheriff’s office Facebook post.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. Monday in the 500 block of South Dickey Road in the town of Spring Valley.

Capt. Mark Thompson noted several incidents of vandalism in the same area Saturday and Sunday in which windows were shot with BB guns.

“There’s plenty of shenanigans going on. We’re definitely looking for any help from the public on the tractor thing because there was substantial damage to that outbuilding and a major piece of equipment,” Thompson said.

Sheriff’s office reports list this recent vandalism in the town of Spring Valley:

  • A house window and the window of a vehicle broken by BBs, reported at 10:10 p.m. Saturday on South Dickey Road.
  • A truck hit with BBs, breaking two windows denting a door of a truck, reported at 10:16 p.m. Saturday on West Hafeman Road.
  • A window and siding of a house hit with BBs, reported at 12:49 a.m. Sunday on South Dickey Road.
