UPDATE: Woman expected to survive stabbing on Janesville's west side

The home is in a quiet neighborhood on the northwest side of the city, just a block from the Janesville Country Club.

“They’re associated. No relationship or anything like that, no romantic relationship, but they are known to one another,” said Ratzlaff, who declined to give more information.

Spitz remained in custody Thursday afternoon on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, Raztlaff said.

The woman on Thursday afternoon was in recovery in an area hospital following an hours-long surgery to repair damage from multiple stab wounds, Ratzlaff said.
