JANESVILLE—Police said a Parker High School staff member received treatment at a hospital after a student choked her in a classroom at the school Thursday morning.

Janesville police Sgt. Ben Thompson told The Gazette the staff member heard the 15-year-old male student was causing a disruption in a classroom and went to try to calm him down before he attacked her. Parker’s resource officer was alerted to the incident and got the boy off the staff member after a struggle. She was then taken to a local hospital for treatment, Thompson said.
