An Elkhorn teen pleaded guilty in Walworth County Court on Tuesday to some of the child sexual assault charges he faced, court records show.

Mitchel C. Lothes, 18, of W5258 Aweogon Trail pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a child under 16 years old and child enticement, according to online court records.

Three other charges were dismissed and read in to the record: sexual assault of a child under 16, second-degree sexual assault and sexual intercourse with a child.

Two girls accused Lothes of groping them, and another girl, who was 16, said Lothes forcibly had sex with her last summer, according to the criminal complaint.

Elkhorn police on July 14 spoke to a 14-year-old girl who said Lothes tried to inappropriately grab her and a 12-year-old girl a few days earlier, the complaint states. The older girl told police the two of them wore sweatpants the next night in hopes that Lothes would not touch them again.

The next night, the older girl said Lothes touched them again. He then took her into a bedroom and pinned her down, but she fought and got away from him, according to the complaint.

The girl said Lothes previously had shown her a gun he carries in his backpack, which made her afraid, the complaint states.

A 16-year-old girl later told a Walworth County sheriff’s deputy that Lothes forcibly had sex with her July 17, according to the complaint.

Lothes’ sentencing hearing will be at 2:30 p.m. May 3.
