An Elkhorn man charged with intoxicated driving as his 10th offense drove onto a curb with pedestrians nearby, according to a criminal complaint filed this week in Walworth County Court.

Elkhorn police said David J. Moran, 47, of 702 W. Walworth St. drove while intoxicated at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 18 near his home, according to the complaint. Moran was involved in an accident and had visible trouble keeping his balance.

The complaint does not offer more details about the nature of the accident.

Moran told police he had come from a Department of Veterans Affairs hospital in Milwaukee and had not drank that day, the complaint states. He told police he worked eight hours that day.

Results from a blood test are pending, according to the complaint.

Moran has previous intoxicated-driving convictions in 1992, 1995 three times within three months, 1997, 1999 twice, 2002 and 2007.
