A Darien man charged with sixth-offense OWI said he “had a few whiskey cokes” before getting behind the wheel, according to a criminal complaint filed in Walworth County Court.

City of Delavan police say at about 5:58 p.m. Nov. 29, Gregory M. Nettekoven, 65, of N2451 Temperance Trail, drove while intoxicated at Walworth Street and Bella Vista Drive in the village of Darien, the complaint states.

Police saw Nettekoven cross the centerline and weave within the lane, according to the complaint. They found six Heineken beers and half a bottle of Calvert whiskey in Nettekoven’s car.

Results from a blood test are pending.

Nettekoven has five OWI convictions for violations in 1998, 2001, 2007, 2013 and 2014, the complaint states.
