BELOIT—A person posing as a representative from a tree removal company distracted an elderly Beloit resident Wednesday while others burglarized the victim's home.

The Beloit Police Department is investigating the incident that occurred Wednesday afternoon. The person approached the victim saying he wanted to remove trees in the area. While the victim was outside with this person, others took items from the home.
