The UW-Whitewater Department of Music is teaming up with White House of Music to start its “Be Instrumental” campaign, according to a university news release.
The music department is seeking financial and instrument donations for UW-W music students. High-priority instruments include trombone, alto saxophone, clarinet, violin, string bass, oboe, cornet or trumpet, horn, bassoon, and percussion practice pads and stands.
Participants can donate used instruments and receive a letter verifying the donations as a gift. The department requests instrument repairs are made before donation and will examine and appraise instruments before donation.
Residents can also donate money for the purchase of an instrument through White House of Music.
Chris White, president and CEO of White House of Music, will add a full year of free service for any instrument purchased and donated as part of the campaign.
