Victims in fatal crash ID’d
The Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department identified the two men killed Sunday in a multivehicle crash on Interstate 43. The two men, riding in a GMC Yukon, crashed into a semitrailer truck that overturned and came to rest with its trailer across both southbound lanes of the Interstate. The deaths and incident remain under investigation.

Priebus backs Vukmir in race
Former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus gave his endorsement to state Sen. Leah Vukmir in the Republican primary to take on U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin in November. Priebus cast doubt on Kevin Nicholson’s conversion to the GOP after previously serving as national president of the College Democrats. Priebus led the state party in Wisconsin before serving as chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Pope apologizes to victims
Pope Francis apologized for insisting that victims of pedophile priests show “proof” to be believed, saying he realized it was a “slap in the face” to victims that he never intended. But he doubled down on defending a Chilean bishop accused by victims of covering up for the country’s most notorious pedophile priest, and he repeated that anyone who makes such accusations without providing evidence is guilty of slander.
