Voters inside Faith Lutheran Church in Janesville on Tuesday, Aug. 14.

ALARMING new this morning! Only 22% of eligible voters fulfilled their duty as a US CITIZEN to VOTE yesterday according to our Rock Co. Clerk Lisa Tollefson as reported on WCLO Radio. I’m amazed that there is so very much talk-talk about US CITIZENSHIP, but so few US CITIZENS who walk the talk! Do YOU really understand what the per centage really means? Only slightly more than 1 eligible voter out of 5 voted yesterday!

Why are PRIMARY ELECTIONS significant? WE THE PEOPLE choose which candidates will be on our GENERAL ELECTION BALLOT on Tuesday, November 6. Having followed the PRIMARY ELECTION campaigns, I assert that there were VERY SIGNIFICANT differences among the candidates. Now, for better or worse, some of those candidates are no longer candidates for election to public office.

Reviewing the reports about PRIMARY ELECTIONS in WI as well as elsewhere, I believe there are some OUTstanding results with candidates who will serve WE THE PEOPLE of WI and the US. At the same time, there are candidates who will NOT serve WE THE PEOPLE. They’ll basically SERVE THEMSELVES and their special interest supporters.

WI CITIZENS are aware, I hope, that we have an OPEN PRIMARY which means that each voter can choose in the privacy of the voting booth which PARTY PRIMARY s/he is going to vote in. A voter can vote in only one party’s primary. Yes, remember, the PRIMARY ELECTION is a PARTY ELECTION. Sometimes, there is no meaningful research to tell us how often, a citizen votes in the OTHER party to vote for a candidate s/he considers the WEAKEST of that party’s candidates. The mischief is to set-up the candidate of the other party to lose in the General Election. LEGALLY this is not an issue. ETHICALLY it is WRONG!

I dare to share my AUDACITY of HOPE, despite the actual voter turn-outs in mid-term elections, that WE THE PEOPLE will turn-out to VOTE on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 with over 60%... in fact, WHY NOT 80% or 90%?! Watching for your comments with interest as to whether you believe higher voter turnout would be healthier for OUR REPUBLIC for WE THE PEOPLE.

COUNTDOWN to GENERAL ELECTION on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 is: 11 weeks and 6 days!
