The Rev. John W. Eyster on Dec. 1 was called to be the interim pastor for East Koshkonong Lutheran Church.

Eyster will serve the church part time with an emphasis to be on call for pastoral care and preparing for and leading worship services.

He comes to East Koshkonong Lutheran Church with experience serving congregations in Baltimore, Maryland; Notodden, Norway; and Hebron, Fort Atkinson, Edgerton and Janesville.

Eyster has served as interim pastor in Monticello, Lake Mills, Edgerton and Janesville. He served the First Congregational Church of Emerald Grove for 23 years as part-time pastor while teaching at Parker High School. He retired from Emerald Grove in 1995 and from Parker High School in 2000.

Eyster also works as an adjunct professor for the Political Science Department at UW-Whitewater. He has taught at UW-Madison, UW-Rock County and UW-Waukesha.
