Officers get special thanks

My name is Frank Ehrenberg. I’ve had polio since I was 6 months old. I have a hard time getting around and just turned 78 years old. To make a long story short, the other day, I had to take my wife to the cancer center in Beloit. I left my wheelchair in my driveway as I usually do.

My neighbors at Rockvale Park know that I use it every day. I guess someone thought I put it at the end of the road for collection because when I got home, it was gone. It was nowhere in sight. I called Rock County and they sent two officers out to find it. And they did. The person who had taken it thought it was out for collection and off it went.

Well, I just want to thank these men for what they did. They went above and beyond to get that wheelchair back for me.

God bless both of you. They asked if I wanted to file charges. I said “no.” That person learned a lesson. Who am I to make him or her feel bad.

Next time you want to take something, in someone’s driveway, please ask.

Thank again to the officers for all the help, and thanks to my neighbors, too.
