Not all graduates from high school can afford to hold graduation parties for their families and friends. For that reason, the Janesville Elks Lodge 254 held a graduation party June 5 for Craig, Parker and charter school seniors. The lodge provided food, bingo and prizes, and each graduate received a card and gift. The Elks Lodge has held the “Beacon of Hope” graduation party for numerous years. Many of the students celebrated that day have overcome challenges such as poverty, homelessness, becoming a teen parent or other risk factors.

Thank you, Janesville Elks Lodge 254 for making the students feel so special! Thank you for caring about the young adults in our community, especially the ones who need it the most.
