REP RYAN’s RESOLUTION passed in House with Discovering Democracy IV WATCHING! Headlines all over are that Rep. Paul Ryan’s BUDGET RESOLUTION which avoids a government shutdown next week passed the House yesterday morning. I sat in the gallery with the Milton High School Discovering Democracy IV group watching the vote and then the Q&A with REP. PAUL RYAN in his House Budget Committee Hearing room.

VAL CROFTS, Founder/Director of Discovering Democracy, has 42 students with 5 staffers ready to leave on the overnight bus trip to Washington, DC after school today. Reflecting on the fact that the 41st WASHINGTON SEMINAR field study group just returned from Washington, DC, my work with Wisconsin Academic Decathlon state competition at the end of last week and my anticpation of being in Washington, DC with the 4th annual Discovering Democracy field study from Milton High School, I have a soaring reassurance of our FUTURE! Dave Brown – I wish I had gotten to know him sooner! I was among those shocked by the report that County Board member Dave Brown collapsed and died while clearing his driveway in our town of Fulton last Tuesday. I shared the sense of loss with the same WISH that I had gotten to know DAVE BROWN sooner. Did YOU know DAVE BROWN? If so, I hope YOU will comment.
