HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TODAY!
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TODAY!
The greeting, “Happy Mother’s Day” will be articulated here and there and everywhere throughout our country today. Do we WALK the talk?
Reading Annie’s Mailbox column online this morning, I was reminded of how we need to WALK the talk TODAY,
“The Time Is Now (author unknown) “If you are ever going to love me, Love me now, while I can know The sweet and tender feelings Which from true affection flow. Love me now.
"Do not wait until I’m gone
And then have it chiseled in marble,
Sweet words on ice cold stone.
If you have tender thoughts of me
Please tell me now.
If you wait until I am sleeping
Never to awaken,
There will be death between us
And I won’t hear you then.
So, if you love me, even a little bit,
Let me know it while I am living
So I can treasure it.”
Yes, JUST DO IT NOW – TODAY!
While in the assurance of Christian faith I do NOT share the sense of the ABSOLUTE ABSENCE of communication after death, I do agree that we NEED to communicate our LOVE during our lives. What do YOU think?
And then I saw Ann Telnaes regular political graphic reading The Washington Post, “The best country for mothers.” Which country is it? Disappointing that it is NOT our USA. Why not? What about appropriate and reasonable paid maternity and paternity leave required by government? What about full health-care of all pregnant females complemented by infant care? What about financial support for each child to help parents provide for basics? What about Social Security coverage for “stay at home” parent (male or female)?
IF you want to find out which country is BEST, use this URL to see Ann’s political graphic, “The best country for mothers.” SURPRISED?!
For a full article explaining Ann's political graphic, I urge you to access this link to read the LA Times' feature article on Save the Children's annual report, "State of the World's Mothers report."
What do YOU think? Should WE THE PEOPLE of the USA do MORE to support FAMILY VALUES?
Why is it that the politicians who TALK-TALK most about “family values” do NOT support the benefits needed by mother’s? YOU tell me, please.
BEST WISHES to ALL mothers whether biological, spiritual or nourishing – there are various types of mothers – on this Mother’s Day today! God guide, help and bless you all – each and every one.
Here we go…

Glad to see you still writing blogs and expressing your opinions and the opinions of others.
Those who wish to have their egos and bigotries stroked only need to turn on Fox News.
Plenty of Monday-morning-quarterbacking and deer-in-the-headlight witchy outrage.

Thank you, John for the Mother's Day wishes, and for the link to the WSJ article. As a woman who's worn may hats (all at once) as a parent, a spouse and a professional, I'm happy to report that my husband and our sons and grandsons respect all that women are capable of.
Certain state politicians have shown no respect for women, as demonstrated by legislation recently passed, and by a certain state senator's comments about his opponent being the puppet of her husband, as if she's not capable of becoming our next senator and representing everyone in our district (not just the big donors).

Of course Eyster would politicize our special holiday for moms.
