Rock River and climate change
Here are details about an upcoming educational opportunity for those who like to learn about the Rock River.
From a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources news release:
The third program in an educational series about the Rock River will address the potential impact of climate change on the River and its tributaries.
The session will take place starting at 8 a.m. Thursday, June 9, at the UW Extension Jefferson County office, 864 Collins Road, Jefferson. Presentations will run from 8:30 to 11:15 a.m. followed by a facilitated discussion until noon.
The Rock River and many of its tributaries have water-quality impairments caused by soil and fertilizer washing off farm fields, city streets and construction sites. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is working with many groups to develop a plan on how to achieve better river health by reducing sediment and phosphorous in the water, the release states.

In short if the DNR is involved it will mean more regulation and more taxation.

Sigma, there needs to be buffers or grassy areas on the edges of the streams/river and the farm fields. These collect and filter the runoff before it goes in the water.

Fortunately the River has people who care about it, and who are in a position to do something about it, unlike our own local Mr. Killjoy. There's a whole world of stuff that goes on out there that you don't even know about much less care about, and you're not doing anyone any favors by commenting.

Accept it.. it is a casualty of civilization. Any change to the river to "better" it will just produce adverse affects elsewhere. There are much greater things I think people would worry about.
