Water, water everywhere

By ANN MARIE AMES ( Contact )   Friday, July 22, 2011 - 10:35 a.m.

It's funny ... Usually it's a sunny day that makes us feel energized and happy.

Today, the sight and sound of rain has me walking on sunshine.

I drive past a corn field on Janesville's south side every morning. I've been cringing all week to see the leaves curled up. I hope the rain eases the minds of producers who have been looking at stressed fields.

I'll try to get a story in tomorrow's paper about the rain.

In the meantime, a Milwaukee reporter came up with a fantastic farm/weather story that's all about water. I am totally jealous.

I didn't even know there was such a thing as cow floating. Have a read.

Yes it's raining, which is good after the scorching week we had! Now if only the paper carries would remember to put the newspapers in a plastic sleeve, it would be better. Ours never seems to feel the need, so time and money are now wasted on having another employee having to bring me another one. And yes, I have called about it..... each time it happens, yet it still happens.
