The value of new child facility

It takes caring, compassionate people to truly make a difference in a community. A prime example is the new Walworth County Child Advocacy Center.

The center, designed to serve the county’s youngest crime victims, opened April 15 on County NN east of Elkhorn. Now, instead of being shuffled from office to office to repeat distressing stories of neglect, abuse or sexual assault, children can tell of terrible crimes in a comfortable, welcoming setting.

How was it designed with children in mind? Who deserves praise for years of behind-the-scenes efforts? How should it improve justice in Walworth County without cost to taxpayers?

We’ll provide details and perspectives in our editorial Saturday.
