At this year’s Rock County 4-H Fair, country music is the flavor of the day. Though the Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra will perform on the final day Sunday, July 28, country artists will fill the main stage Tuesday through Saturday. They include the up-and-coming Hunter Hayes to current star Trace Adkins to the legendary Bellamy Brothers and Ronnie Milsap.

But the fair is about more than music.

Lots of folks attend the fair for the flavor of foods—from cream puffs to corn dogs, cheese curds to cotton candy.

But the fair is about more than music and food.

What might lure you to the fair? Do you think the fair remains a bargain? Are you miffed that there’s no rock music among main stage entertainers this year? Do you accept that you’ll pay extra fees to hear and see Hayes and Adkins?

In our editorial Sunday, we’ll explain why you should take time out to attend and appreciate this year’s fair.
