How can state create more jobs?

A new report by the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance is an eye-opener. It suggests that, rather than sniping about the latest monthly jobs report, lawmakers must find ways to change the fundamentals that drag down job growth here. This will be the subject of The Gazette’s editorial Sunday.

Will enrollment battles pay off?

The Beloit and Beloit Turner school districts are fighting to retain and lure students because each one means more in state aid. This battle is spurring millions of dollars in spending and proposed outlays for school upgrades. Will these investments pay off? This will be the subject of The Gazette’s editorial Saturday.
