Do you back Tammy or Tommy?

By GREG PECK ( Contact )   Friday, November 2, 2012 - 12:04 p.m.

You can’t flip on the TV without seeing an advertisement with a shadowy image of former Gov. Tommy Thompson or hearing Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin yell “you’re damn right.”

The U.S. Senate race between the Democrat Baldwin and the Republican Thompson will go down in history as one of the nastiest and expensive in state history.

Both parties see retiring Democratic Sen. Herb Kohl’s seat as key in the battle for Senate control.

When the last rhetorical bomb has been tossed, however, voters must make a choice. Which one do you favor and why?

We’ll share our perspectives in the Gazette Editorial Board’s endorsement editorial Saturday.

Voting for Tammy, all the way. Tommy left Wisconsin deep in debt, and now he wants to come back from lobbytown to line his pockets some more. No way, Tommy. Retire on your taxpayer funded golden parachute pension, and leave our poor state alone. We are already stuck with Walker and Johnson.

If there was ever a case for a "none of the above" option that would force another election with two new candidates this is the one! I feel I need to wash my hands after voting for either, may be I will vote like Monte Brewster...

If this race was 'running for cover' (clocktower) then Tammy would win.

donnaw said: "" Her public persona changes with each group she talks to."" if you stay consistent with that belief then I am guessing you wont be voting for Mittens then correct? because that guys position changes more ith each and every group he talks to, or whatever storm may hit! FEMA anyone? As Chris Christie what he thinks of FEMA.
Just asking for some consistency here. Will we get any from donnaw? I look forward to her trying to say what Tammy and Mittens does to make friends in whatever election they can to get elected. THEIR POLITICIANS!! What do you think Tommy does? That man is as dishonest as anyone!! Did you hear him explain why he went to the private sector? "Because my wife likes to shop"" His words!! Thats a respectable guy isnt it?

Tommy's campaign promos on TV taught my friend's 3 year old grandson how to swear. His mother is outraged!

The lesser of two evils, by far, is Tammy Baldwin. We should have locked the doors after Tommy Thompson left for Washinton, D.C. the first time. When those he was elected to serve have to file a lawsuit to get their own governor to return funds, you know he should NEVER be trusted again.

The sheer arrogance of him running again bespeaks of how little he thinks of the voting public's intelligence.

Tommy stole one hundred million dollars from the WRS while in office. As a result ALL public employees get to retire one year early without a penelty.
Thanks for letting me retire early Tommy but your nothing but a thief.

While I am not enthralled with Tommy, I certainly didn't vote for Tammy. Waaaaaaaaay too far to the left. I got to know her personally when I lived in Madison, what a phony! Her public persona changes with each group she talks to. I have heard her say things far left of Pelosi, et al.
