Should city sign up for Green Tier?

The Janesville City Council on Monday narrowly rejected joining Green Tier after critics spoke in opposition of the DNR program. It then asked the city attorney to determine whether the city would face a fine if it joined and later opted out. Should the city ultimately join? This will be the subject of The Gazette’s editorial Sunday.

Why take chances with fireworks?

Every year, people suffer burns and lose fingers and eyes to fireworks. This year, the greater danger might be sparking a fire that burns someone’s home. This will be the subject of The Gazette’s editorial Saturday.
