Which was your favorite Super Bowl commercial?

By GREG PECK ( Contact )   Monday, February 8, 2010 - 10:12 a.m.

You have to admit, Sunday’s Super Bowl was entertaining—on the field. Instead of the too-often blowout, this one wasn’t sealed until the final minute, when Peyton Manning’s fourth-down toss near the goal line fell incomplete. The Saints emerged with a victory that further lifted the spirits of their city of New Orleans, left crushed by Katrina just a few years ago.

I didn’t find the commercials so entertaining; none was hilarious. My wife and I were in a bowling league, so we missed a few in the first quarter. I caught up with the best ones this morning by clicking here.

Sure, the Bud Light house of cans was good, as was Bud’s observatory commercial. I didn’t care much for Budweiser’s human bridge commercial, however. Though the Clydesdales one was good, it didn’t match those in previous years, particularly the ones showing the horses playing football.

The Snickers commercial showing Betty White playing football was entertaining, as was Motorola’s Megan Fox one. The E-Trade series with the infants was cute.

Coke’s commercial featuring the Simpsons didn’t do much for me, but maybe that is because I’m not a “Simpsons” fan. On the other hand, Coke had perhaps my favorite commercial—the guy sleepwalking through the jungle to get a Coke.

Which was your favorite?

Doritos, when the dog put the shock collar on the owner/human and started barking. Great commercial

Didn't see these mentioned as the top 5 but I thought Careerbuilders -- casual Fridays was funny and also TruTV -- pulling Punxatawney Polamalu out of the ground by his hair was good too.

The one with Betty White (and Abe Vigota, who was a geezer back in the '70s.)

I love Betty White, but that ad was just dumb! How can a Snickers bar change your appearance besides making you fat! JMO

I wonder if The Who could get special rates at Huntington Place. They could jam with the Huntington Place Singers.

Snickers with Betty White was head and shoulders above all the rest. None even came close in the lamest ad offerings in many years. Favre and Megan Fox are only other two even worth mentioning. Bud was not up to par and Doritos should be ashamed of all theirs.

I agree that the commercials were mostly forgettable. By the far the best commercial was the Letterman/Leno/Oprah promo for LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN. Brilliant.
